Coach Daniel “Ventania” Thomas has been training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 1992 and earned his black belt under Claudio França in 2004.  He currently holds the rank of second-degree black belt. He is an accomplished competitor and 3-time black belt World Champion. Most recently he earned a Gold Medal at the Abu Dhabi Pro Cup West Coast Qualifier, a Gold Medal at US Open XIV and two Gold Medals at the 2009 IBJJF Master/Senior World Championships.

Whether you are interested in losing weight, self defense or training for a tournament, Daniel Thomas offers some of the best BJJ instruction on the Monterey Peninsula.

Daniel Thomas teaches at BodyWorx Academy, located next to the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey. He offers adult Jiu-Jitsu classes three days a week, children’s classes once a week, and is also available for private lessons.

Classes are held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday starting at 6:30 PM. The class begins with stretching and cardio conditioning, moves into technical instruction, and concludes with live rolling. Open mat is available after class for students interested in further training.
